Services We Offer
OrthoCare Initial Assessment
During this session, we’ll discuss your health/ injury history, you will undergo an orthopedic/ movement assessment, and dry needle + manual therapy treatment. We’ll review your individualized care plan and I’ll answer any questions. My aim before you leave is to ensure you have a strong understanding of your current condition, what adjustments you can make to your regular activities to support healing, and what you should be doing to help yourself in between treatment sessions. Please wear or bring shorts and a tank top to your initial assessment appointment. Duration: 1.25-1.5 hr
Ortho Care Follow-Up
This session is limited to clients who have completed the Ortho Care initial assessment. These follow up sessions are predominately manual therapy-based treatments with corrective exercise to maximize therapeutic effectiveness. Please wear or bring comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement. Trigger point dry needling can have a relaxing effect on your nervous system, and often clients experience full body relaxation, as though they just had a full body massage. This is due to stimulation of your parasympathetic nervous system. You may also experience muscle soreness to the area that received dry needling immediately following treatment or 1-2 days following a dry needle treatment. Intense exercise is not contraindicated the should be considered when scheduling your treatment session.
Duration: 1 hr or 1.5 hr (consult with Rachel to determine which session is appropriate for your needs!)
Therapeutic Massage
Therapeutic massage involves hands-on manipulation of soft tissues to relax muscles, improve circulation, and enhance well-being. Techniques like Swedish massage and trigger point therapy target specific areas of tension. This can release tension, increase flexibility, and reduce pain. Beyond physical benefits, it can also reduce stress and improve mental health. Often part of a holistic wellness regimen, massage therapy is customizable and suitable for all ages and fitness levels, offering a natural way to promote healing and relaxation. During my massage therapy sessions, my aim is to regulate the nervous system, restore function, and reduce pain. Duration: 1 hr or 1.5 hr
Scar Tissue Release
Scar release is a therapeutic technique aimed at reducing the visibility and discomfort of scars by manipulating the underlying tissues to improve their appearance and flexibility. Scar tissue differs from the original tissue it repairs. In general, scar tissue is stickier and less elastic that the surrounding tissue. This creates a predisposition to myofascial dysfunction, trigger points, and pain within the region. Duration: 1 hr
TMJD Release
TMJD Release is a specialized therapy for temporomandibular joint dysfunction. Using dry needling and myofascial release techniques, it aims to alleviate pain, reduce tension, and improve jaw function, enhancing overall comfort and mobility. Duration: 1 hr or 1.5 hr
